  • Canadian Network for Leadership in Education and Early Learning & Care (CNLEELC)
    The mission of the CNLEELC is to provide a leadership forum for educators from both the education
    and the early learning & care sectors to work collaboratively to enhance the lives of children, families
    and communities in Canada.
  • Centre of Excellence for Early Childhood Development (CEECD)
    The mission of the CEECD is to improve our knowledge of the social and emotional development
    of young children. Their website provides access to publications and information about events.
  • Family Resource Programs of Canada
    FRP Canada promotes the well-being of families by providing national leadership, consultation and
    resources to those who care for children and support families.
  • Founders' Network
    This website provides information about Dr. Fraser Mustard and access to his presentation slides
    and reports.
  • Fraser Mustard Chair in Early Childhood Development
    The Chair team plays a leading role in the development of interdisciplinary programs to further research
    and practice in child development. The website provides access to information and resources, including
    workshops, on ECD.
  • Healthy Child Manitoba
    Led by the Healthy Child Committee of Cabinet, Healthy Child Manitoba bridges departments and
    governments and, together with the community, works to improve the well-being of Manitoba's children and
    youth. Their website provides information about the Province of Manitoba's programs and initiatives to support
    families and chidren during the early years.
  • Human Early Learning Partnership (HELP)
    HELP is an interdisciplinary research network from British Columbia's six major universities that facilitates
    the creation of new knowledge, and helps apply this knowledge by working directly with government and
    communities. Their website provides access to presentations, publications and online resources.
  • Consortium for International Population-Based Early Child Development Indicators
    The Consortium is a cross-national, inter-agency, multidisciplinary technical assistance team that supports
    countries to build local capacity to measure early child development.
  • Offord Centre for Child Studies
    The Offord Centre is dedicated to improving the life quality and life opportunities of children and youth by
    focusing on the biological factors and life circumstances that influence healthy child development. The
    website provides information on the Centre's work, including the Early Development Instrument (EDI).

    Provides information about the Federation, its activities as well as access to a series of resources
    for parents and other care providers.
  • Canadian Council on Learning (CCL)
    The CCL incluces a Knowledge Centre on ECD. Their website provides access to CCL reports and other
    publications on learning in the early years.
  • Child Care Advocacy Association of Canada (CCAAC)
    The CCAAC is dedicated to working together for the right of all children to access a publicly funded, inclusive,
    quality, non-profit child care system.
  • Childcare Resource and Research Unit (CRRU)
    The CRRU is a policy and research oriented facility that focuses on early childhood education and child care
    and family policy in Canada and internationally.
  • Early Childhood Community Development Centre (ECCDC)
    The Early Childhood Community Development Centre is a community-based, non-profit organization working
    to help early learning and care providers achieve their goals by offering resources, training, and supports.
  • National Institute for Early Education Research (NIEER) (USA)
    The NIEER conducts and communicates research to support high quality, effective, early childhood education
    for all young children.

  • Centre of Knowledge on Healthy Child Development
    The Centre provides access to important and up-to-date information that is based on the best scientific
    research currently available, focussing on children's behaviour and mental health.
  • Motherisk
    Provides authoritative information and guidance about the risks associated with drug, chemical, infection,

  • Handbook of Language and Literacy Development: A Roadmap from 0 to 60 Months
    Provides evidence-based information on children's language and literacy development up to 5 years of age.
  • Health Canada
    This section of the Health Canada website provides information on a number of health-related
    topics, including childhood diseases and illnesses, healthy environments, mental health, school
    health and work-life balance.
  • Invest in Kids
    Translates the science of parenting and child development into engaging, easy-to-understand, relevant resources for parents.
  • Motherisk

  • Parents Matter
    This website of FRP Canada provides downloadable resources for parents, some of which are available in ten different languages.
  • Raising Children Network (Australia)

  • British Columbia ECD Mapping Portal
    This Mapping Portal houses a wide collection of maps, datasets, and other useful tools related to ECD
    in British Columbia. This includes ongoing results from the Early Development Instrument (EDI), which
    is a province-wide survey of the developmental health of five-year olds.
  • Encyclopedia on Early Childhood Development
    This Encyclopedia, published on the Internet, is available free of charge. It covers 37 topics related to the
    psychosocial development of the child, from conception to the age of five, and presents the most up-to-date
    scientific knowledge.
  • The Science of Early Child Development
    This online curriculum resource uses multimedia and interactivity to illustrate the research on developmental
    health, brain development, the ecology of childhood, coping & competence and communicating & learning.
  • Talaris Timeline
    This research-based timeline from the Talaris Institute (USA) is organized by a child's age. It serves as a general
    guide to the five areas of development, from birth to 5: Social-Emotional; Cognitive; Language; Sensory; and Motor
    Skills.
