Definitions of Community Champions
Individual
To join the Council as an ?individual? you wish to advance its mission within your personal sphere of influence (e.g. a parent council, community forum, or organizational meeting). As an individual, you do not speak for an organization, group, or network.
Group or organization
The Council defines a group or organization as two or more people working towards a common goal, within a sector or profession (e.g. health, education, early childhood education, business). By joining as a ?group or organization,? you need the consent or approval of your group/organization?s governing body to go on record as a Council Champion.
Cross-sectoral Community network
The Council defines a cross-sectoral community network as two or more people working towards a common goal across at least two sectors (e.g. health, education, early childhood education, business) within a community. By joining as a ?network,? you need the consent or approval of your community network?s governing body to go on record as a Council Champion.
Notes:
- Individuals who are part of a group, organization, or network may join the Council as individual Champions, but in so doing, have not acted on behalf of the group, organization, or network.
- Individuals, groups, or organizations within a network may already be Champions.
