DR. STEVEN BARNETT | Director, National Institute for Early Education Research
Steven Barnett is a Board of Governors Professor and Director of the National Institute for Early Education Research (NIEER) at Rutgers University. His research includes studies of the economics of early care and education, including costs and benefits, the long term effects of preschool programs on children's learning and development and the distribution of educational opportunities. He has authored or co-authored over 160 publications including 14 books. His best known works include the original benefit-cost analyses of the Perry Preschool and Abecedarian programs and the series of State Preschool Yearbooks providing annual state-by-state analyses of progress in public pre-kindergarten. 

JANE BEACH | Policy and Research Consultant
Jane Beach is a child and family research and policy consultant based in Victoria, British Columbia. She has been principal and co-investigator on several pan-Canadian studies for public, voluntary and private sector organizations, and has authored numerous studies and reports on early learning and child care in Canada.  She also works internationally, currently providing early childhood policy support in Egypt as part of the educational reform agenda.  Jane has several years experience in the public sector working on child care policy and program development, and is a former Director of Child Care for the province of British Columbia.

JANE BERTRAND | Professor, School of Early Childhood, George Brown College
Jane Bertrand is an early childhood educator, an expert advisor to the Early Learning Advisor of Ontario, the Atkinson Charitable Foundation and the McCain Family Foundation. She chaired the Ontario Best Start Expert Panel on Early Learning and led the development of Early Learning for Every Child Today, a curriculum guide for early childhood settings in Ontario. Jane was a principal researcher/writer on the Early Years Study and the Early Years Study 2, a member of the Toronto First Duty research and development team and one of the founding directors of the Council for Early Child Development.

ANNE LOUISE BISCARO | Director, Family Health Division, Niagara Region Public Health Department
Anne Biscaro’s work supports Reproductive Health, Healthy Babies Healthy Children, Child Health, Dental, Infant and Child Development Services, School Health Elementary and School Health Secondary. In addition she is a Data Analysis Coordinator for the Ontario Early Years System, a member of the Education Committee of the provincial 18 month well baby strategy and active in engaging primary care providers in the critical importance of early child development. Anne is a founding member of the Early Years Action Group Niagara, a vice Chair of the Early Years Niagara Planning Council and a Fellow with the Council for Early Child Development. 

DR. SVEN BREMBERG | Director of Department of Child and Adolescent Health and Mental Health, Swedish National Institute of Public Health
Sven Bremberg is Associate Professor at the Department of Public Health at the Karolinska Institute, in Stockholm.  His major field of scientific interest is evaluation and development of child and adolescent public health interventions and studies of inequity in child health.
