Council for Early Child Development

Expert Advisors

Guiding and advising the Council in its collective efforts to harness the evidence and make its messages accessible to communities, Expert Advisors are science and communication leaders who ensure the accuracy and effectiveness of the Council’s messages. Their knowledge and expertise are essential to the Council’s efforts.

Main activities of the Expert Advisors:
  • Participate in collective discussions that guide the evolution of the Council for Early Child Development in its intention to facilitate partnerships between researchers and communities to assess and analyze early child development outcomes.
  • Review the draft Early Years Study 2 that will update and expand the Ontario Early Years Study (McCain & Mustard, 1999). The Spring 2006 publication will include a synthesis of current biological and social science research findings related to early child development. The scope of the research findings, public policy options and community examples will expand from an Ontario focus to a Canadian and international focus.
  • Review and monitor the Early Child Development Facts, an online Council publication that briefly summarizes current early child development research in a format that is accessible for use in local communities. The publication will be online in early 2006. We will circulate the document to you for comments in advance of its public launch.
